Planned giving councils have
an important role in PPP governance and in promoting meaningful
philanthropic planning in their local communities. Through
executive briefings, educational sessions and networking,
attendees at the annual Leadership Assembly will:
-
Share best
practices and hear about other councils achievements
in the areas of governance and administration, name
change and rebranding efforts, unique programming
and outreach to partner groups in their communities.
-
Discuss their
councils priorities and concerns with the board
members they elect to represent them.
Learn about
national plans to expand programs and services to
all segments of the philanthropic planning
community.

What did attendees
find most valuable about
the 2009 Leadership
Assembly?
- Finding out what other
groups are doing &
making connections that
we can use throughout
the year to work
together to improve all
councils.
- Getting ideas to improve
programs and increase
membership for our
council.
learning about the
resources available
through PPP, including
the web site.
- Comparing what has
worked and what has not
with other council
representatives.
- Sharing council
priorities with national
board and staff.
Here’s what
attendees said about the
2009 Leadership Assembly.
- “As a first-time
attendee at a Leadership Assembly, I was
very impressed with the content and the
opportunity to learn more about PPP and
the link to the individual councils. Each
council takes on a life of its own and
there are so many resources that I was
unfamiliar with and that our council has
not taken advantage of in the recent past.
Hopefully during my tenure, our council
will become stronger for my experiences at
this Leadership Conference.”
-
“There is a wealth of information and resources on the PPP web site that I will begin to utilize immediately. Also, other councils have great ideas to share!”

Please e-mail your request to Belinda Gillett at bgillett@pppnet.org, or fax it to her attention at 317/269-6268.
