2009 Leadership Assembly

Planned giving councils have an important role in PPP governance and in promoting meaningful philanthropic planning in their local communities. Through executive briefings, educational sessions and networking, attendees at the annual Leadership Assembly will:

  • Share best practices and hear about other councils achievements in the areas of governance and administration, name change and rebranding efforts, unique programming and outreach to partner groups in their communities.
  • Discuss their councils priorities and concerns with the board members they elect to represent them.
  • Learn about national plans to expand programs and services to all segments of the philanthropic planning community.

Council leaders consistently say that the Assembly is the most valuable council leadership activity they attend. Leaders who attended last years Assembly said:

  • "Very well done. One of the most informative conferences I've ever attended. Sharing best practices and good ideas with other council leaders was fabulous."
  • "Even though this was my second [Assembly], I still had many takeaways to bring back to our council.
  • "This was an exceptionally worthwhile experience and I am very glad that I attended."
  • "I [heard] so many wonderful suggestions on how my council can better recruit and retain membership
  • "I appreciated the many, many program ideas. The [national] board members I visited with were all helpful and friendly.
